An email that goes out twice a week to people who live in Greater Middletown. Thursday's issue is for the weekend, and Monday's covers the week ahead.
Why a newsletter ad works here
A banner ad gets ignored. A Middletown Pulse placement reads like a neighbor pointing you to a good spot.
We write every ad ourselves, in the same voice as the rest of the issue, so your business shows up as a recommendation from someone who lives here. There's one business per placement and no auction.
We're local all the way down. Every reader is here, every advertiser is here. Your ad reaches the exact people who can walk through your door.
Who reads it
People who live in Middletown and next door in Cromwell and Portland, and open it to see what's going on around town. Every one of them signed up on their own, with no bought subscribers.
The September 24 issue went to 1,147 readers and 663 of them opened it. The list is 1,142 today. We'd rather show you a real number than a marketing one.
Placements
Together With
Top of the issue, right after the intro. The first ad readers see.
Sponsored By
A dedicated section mid-issue. Room for a fuller story about your business.
In-Line Native
Woven between sections, reads like an editorial pick.
We handle the part most people dread, writing the ad and making the image. You just approve it before it runs.
Pricing
Three ways to run, priced by where your spot sits:
- In-Line Native, woven between sections: $50 a placement.
- Sponsored By, your own section mid-issue: $65 a placement.
- Together With, the top of the issue: $85 a placement.
Right now I'm signing our first sponsors. A founding spot is a 4-week run at the founding rate, and no other business in your line of work gets that spot while you're in it. That's $180 for in-line, $235 for the mid-issue spot, or $305 for the top spot, about 10% less than buying those four weeks one at a time.
631 readers joined the list in September. Your founding rate holds for the whole run, and a renewal gets priced at whatever the list is then. Six weeks gets you 15% off, and there are no contracts or setup fees.
How to start
Tell us a little about your business and what you'd like to promote, and we'll come back with a placement that fits.
Or just reply to any issue. A real person reads it.
